THE OBJECTIVE
The main objective is to enable participants to acquire a deeper understanding of economic literacy and budget accountability for governance. They will also gain knowledge and skills on how to use human rights-based approaches to analyze logical economic processes and their impact on the well-being of women.
COURSE CONTENT
- Introduction to economic literacy, budgeting processes family, household, public) and budget accountability for governance.
- Introduction to women’s rights and national development.
- International political economy and challenges to domestic budgeting in looking at unpaid worker
- Gender-sensitive budgeting & tools for gender analysis and structure
- Women’s rights and accountability failure
- Budget analysis and monitoring local/national budgets
- Budget advocacy and community mobilization for women representation in governance and economy.
TARGET GROUP
Program officers working in civil society organizations that aim to improve the livelihoods of women, women, and youth rights activists, Government planners, donor agencies, and other development agencies engaged in governance and accountability work.
